Managing section members

Section and group heads as well as authorised persons can now also manage the members of a section/group and their status groups. The settings made here are currently not yet synchronised to the intranet. The terms 'section' and 'section member' used here and in the admin interface are equivalent to 'groups' and 'group members'.

  • Login to the AIP Website.
  • Go to the Wagtail Admin Interface by clicking on the gears-icon at the bottom right.
  • Click on 'Section' -> 'Members' in the left menu bar.

Via menu -> Section -> Members authorized persons can edit or add section members.

  • Change section member:
    • Find the desired person in the list and click on 'Edit' in that rows (on the left below the name).
    • Change the desired fields and confirm with 'Save'.
  • Add section member:
    • Click on 'Add section member' (top right).
    • Select the user and your section and a status group.
    • Confirm with 'Save'.
  • If the desired status group is not displayed for selection, this setting can only be done by the webmaster (webmaster@aip.de).
  • Here at this point you can also specify a field of work (in German and English) for each section member, which will then appear under the contact details of the section member on the members page of the section page.
  • If there are employees displayed here who should not appear on the general member list or on the member list of the section page, you can deactivate them like this:
    • Click on 'Edit' for the person in question.
    • Uncheck the 'Show in member lists' option at the bottom of the page.
    • Confirm with 'Save'.
  • Employees are usually displayed in member lists if:
    • they have an active AIP account (IT user database, = Windows account, WLAN, eduroam etc.)
    • the option 'Show in member lists' is set
    • their starting date at the AIP has already passed
    • their date of departure from the AIP has not yet been reached
  • In the overview on Section -> Members, the entry at 'Is shown' indicates whether a member is being displayed in member lists or not.

Cooperations / Long-term Guests

It is now also possible to add long-term guests as additional objects:

  • Login, go to the Wagtail Admin Interface and click on 'Section' -> 'Long-term Guests' in the menu bar.
  • Click on 'Add long-term guest' (top right).
  • Select your section, fill in at least first and last name of the guest and make sure that the checkbox 'Show in member lists' (at the bottom) is checked.
  • Confirm by clicking on the 'Save' button.

The long-term guests entered here will appear utner the subheading 'Cooperations' on the section member page.

If these guests also have an active AIP account, you should uncheck the 'Show in member lists' option in the member overview, otherwise they will be listed twice.
